Brisbane Hearing offers FREE full diagnostic hearing assessment to eligible pensioners and war veterans/DVA cardholders as part of the Commonwealth Hearing Services Program.
The Office of Hearing Services recently announced that as of Nov 2006 people receiving services as part of the Commonwealth Hearing Services program would now have access to a higher level of hearing instrument technology. Now available to all eligible persons are FREE digital hearing instruments with directional microphones (BTE). Open-Ear Fitting style hearing aid is now available.
Directional microphones enable the hearing impaired person to focus on the person in front of them and reduce those unwanted background noise..
Open Ear Fitting style hearing aid greatly improve the fitting comfort and reduce the echo sounds caused by chewing and eating.
If you are a pensioner or war veterans/DVA cardholder and is found to have a hearing problem, the following will happen:
- Download the Hearing Service Voucher application form (PDF 115 kB)
- Complete and sign the form. Take it to your doctor to sign and authorize.
- Post the form to Office of Hearing Services and wait approximately about 4-6 weeks for your "Voucher for Hearing Services" (Sample PDF 487 kB) to arrive.
